adventures in toddlerhood and sewing.

A is as adventurous as ever. He's learned how to remove the couch cushions and throw them around and gleefully sit where they once were. He's been doing it several times a day. Silly boy.
A has wanted to help a lot around the house this weekend. He sat on my lap while I was sewing curtains wanting to touch the foot and needle as it moved around as well as readjusting my stitches and tension. He is also getting some experience cooking. He helped mix the blueberry buckle I made for MOPS and poured the water and milk in the pan for daddy's favorite instant mashed potatoes to go with our roast last night. He's growing so fast and such a wonderful little boy!

The curtain project...

Mom and Dad Beckett arrive this week for a couple days to get their camper ready for their first expedition down to Alabama for some much needed reprieve from surgery, cold and SNOW! Scott thought we could help bring some spring to the camper with some new curtains and asked me to give it a whirl. I was hesitant just because I'd never done anything like it before but felt my way through it and enjoyed the challenge. You can see above the new curtains for the bathroom (which just happen to match the shower curtain) and below are the new bedroom curtains. I really like the blue ribbon accent in the valance. Hopefully they will too.
Below are the living room curtains which remain to be redone. I need Mom's input on that since it's such a larger area. Any suggestions?
This week is going to be full of a slobbery sick boy, visits from Grandma and Grandpa Beckett and the superbowl which we cannot watch because we don't have the TV hooked up...I wonder which projects we'll get into this weekend. :)

the curtains look great! i really like the ribbon accent. as for the larger curtains, i'd go with something unpatterned and simple since there's so much going on above and below it. i keep threatening to make curtains for my parents' boat. we'll see how that goes!

don't you feel the need all of the sudden to vacuum your couch alot more??? i love it when my kids play on the couch cushions because it means they're not somewhere else getting into trouble :)
