Easter fun, more baking adventures, and MORE!

See?

Not another picture Mama!

My handsome hubby posing with his plate.

From the Everday Food magazine (martha stewart) I tried a recipe for black beans and beets. It turned out pretty good and look just like the picture surprise surprise. It was my first time using dried beans and fresh beets. It was our Easter lunch.

Just like the picture...

Me

Goose and I decided (just me really) to make shortbread cookies for Easter for our neighbors. This was his first experience licking the batter from the beaters. (ingredients: butter, flour, brown sugar)

Our friends from church Beth Ann and her daughter Seis came over for dinner and an easter egg hunt with eggs filled with mini bubbles. They had fun.

Goose demonstrating his put the toy (usually a car) on the slide, climb up the ladder and push the toy down the slide and watch it zoom down.

See our eggs?

In other news...
This week we've welcomed our friend Darren back from Afghanistan and have given him a place to stay while he awaits the final approval to be released from the Army (about the second week of May). Welcome Home Darren!
