This past week we've had quite the trials and errors with cloth diapering. The first week overall was mostly a success until yesterday. When I changed his poopy pants he had a diaper rash that was the worst ever! His bottom had what appeared to be welts all over. I felt so horrible for him. I'm not so sure it was the cloth diapers but it was frustrating that it had occured while using them. He most have some sort of virus or reaction to something he ate. I've had quite the grumpy day for a myriad of reasons...one of which is cleaning up after poops and pees today after letting him air out for hours at a time rather than just a few minutes in hopes it would help heal the diaper rash sooner. He thought it was so funny that when I was drawing him a bath he squatted down in front of the bathroom (still on the carpet, though 2 inches from the linoleum floor) and pooped, then ran away laughing. ugh!
One thing is for sure though, lately his affection has been just what I needed at just the right time. He's been giving me open mouth kisses a lot this week and just today I asked him for a kiss and he gave it to me. It isn't the prettiest or cleanest kiss but a pure sign of affection nonetheless. Tonight as I was grumpy and just wanted some time to myself preferably with Scott alone some where quiet which I knew couldn't happen and the frustration was ju
st building. Bath time and wiggly whiny time was over after the bath and it was time to read some books before a slightly early bed time due to his earlier rising and poor napping today. One of his favorites is an itty bitty flap book that is Old MacDonald Had a Farm song throughout it. So naturally I sing it to him rather than read it and he loves it. He snuggled in close as I quietly sang it to him and when we were done he wiggled around and gave me a hug around the neck and as we were getting up to go to bed a kiss on the face. Just in that moment I felt a slight relief knowing I was loved and enjoyed the title of being a momma even if that meant cleaning up smelly gross poop.
In my creative crafty world I'm addicted to making bibs.... here's a look.
